Differentiate with Diffit AI!

I am constantly seeking innovative ways to differentiate in my Language Arts Classroom. It can be a challenge, not to mention time-consuming, to meet the diverse needs of all learners. I recently found an AI platform that helps me quickly create content as well as seamlessly differentiate - Diffit AI. With Diffit AI I can quickly and easily create a variety of materials for my classroom. During the time I’ve been using Diffit AI, I’ve found myself using it frequently to create informational texts with different reading levels.

Open up Diffit AI and you’ll see the following screen. From this starting point, I choose a topic, align the content to my ELA standards, choose a reading level and language. Once I’ve made my choices, I hit “generate resources” and the magic begins.
An adapted reading passage quickly appears. In addition to the text (which includes all sources), there are:
  • vocabulary
  • a bullet point summary
  • multiple-choice and short answer questions, and
  • open ended writing prompts/discussion questions
These pieces can all be copied and edited to suit the needs of your students and the lesson you are teaching.

You could stop right there, but there’s so much more Diffit AI can do with this content. At this point, I can choose how I want to present this material to my students. I use a lot of graphic organizers in my classroom. I feel it is an easy way to scaffold information for students and I’ve found that most students benefit from using a graphic organizer.

I chose the 3-2-1 Reading Summary and Diffit generates a full lesson plan which includes the following.
  • A teacher’s guide w/ pacing
  • A visual that goes along with the text where students can infer and reflect on what is happening in the picture
  • Vocabulary
  • KWL Chart
  • The informational text w/ notes
  • Answer and Explain Section
  • Multiple Choice Questions
  • Short Answer Questions
  • Reflect and Discuss Section

Once this is generated, I can edit these materials to suit my lesson and create a Schoology assignment and post my Google slides there.
